The challenge

This was the open-prompt Weekly Image Challenge run inside the AI Video Bootcamp Skool community on April 13, 2026. Daniel Riley asked one simple question - “comment below with your favourite or best image that you made in the last week” - and picked his 10 favourites from the comments. Each winner received free lifetime access to the community.

Because the prompt was unrestricted, this archive functions as a snapshot of what 20,000+ AI image creators were exploring in mid-April 2026: photoreal cinema stills, AI-influencer characters, editorial fashion, branded product mockups, sci-fi and fantasy character work, vintage documentary recreations, and brand-blended pop-culture mashups all sit side by side.

How it ran

Members dropped one image per person in the comments over the course of a week. Daniel hand-picked 10 winners from over a thousand comments. This page presents those 10 winners alongside 32 of the strongest non-winning entries from the comment thread - 42 images in total. Click any creator name to follow them on Skool.

What stood out

A few patterns recurred in the strongest work. First, photoreal character portraits with a sharp lighting or material hook - kintsugi gold cracks, sandstorm backlight, neon Tokyo through a rain-streaked window - kept reading as photographs rather than renders. Second, fully committed mock-ups of real formats - National Geographic covers, luxury chocolate brand adverts, before-and-after skincare ads, F1 motorsport photography - benefited from the codified-format effect: AI models render real layouts and lighting cues confidently. Third, single-subject conceptual images with a clean story hook beat busy compositions.

The split between photoreal and stylised was roughly even - both approaches won. The shared trait was clarity of intent: one idea, one composition, one strong lighting hook.

A note on the open-prompt format

This challenge intentionally has no theme. The 42 images on this page span everything from selfies that fool the eye to fantasy poster art, cosy product photography, branded ad mock-ups, fire breathers, dust-bowl movie stills, and album-cover-style portraits. Read this archive as a cross-section of where AI image creation sat in mid-April 2026 inside a community of 20,000+ working creators.
